Problem Statement & Vision

Financial Inclusion has become one of the core objectives of financial policy in many countries: 60+ countries have made explicit national financial inclusion commitments.

The FinTechStage Inclusion Forum aims at accelerating the international collaborative movement and network to eradicate financial exclusion. However, the level of innovation required to fulfill those commitments often clashes with existing regulatory frameworks.
Therefore, the need for a different dialogue in between regulators and innovators. Sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Omidyar Network, and powered by FinTechStage, the FinTechStage Inclusion Forum is a three-day programme aiming at:

  • Accelerating the international collaborative movement and network to eradicate financial exclusion and fostering constructive dialogue in between innovators and regulators
  • Creating and showcasing best regulatory practices leading to financial inclusion
  • Fostering and supporting national programmes and the implementation of enabling regulation to drive financial inclusion locally
